Group Yoga & Ayurveda Retreats in Rishikesh
Sri Yoga Ashram in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh hosts private group yoga and Ayurveda retreats for yoga teachers, studios, retreat leaders and private groups, with residential accommodation, vegetarian meals, Ayurveda treatments and the River Ganga within walking distance.
Imagine beginning the morning with yoga in the foothills of the Himalayas. A few minutes away, the sacred River Ganga flows through Rishikesh. Green hills and forest surround you. Birds replace city traffic in the early morning, and after practice your group sits together for a simple vegetarian breakfast before beginning another day of yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and exploration.
Sri Yoga Ashram invites yoga teachers, yoga studios, retreat leaders, wellness professionals and private groups from around the world to organize their own Yoga and Ayurveda retreats in Rishikesh, India. Located in the Laxman Jhula area of Rishikesh, the ashram offers something increasingly difficult to find: a peaceful residential environment surrounded by nature while remaining close to the Ganga and the spiritual life of Rishikesh.
You bring your group and your vision. We help you create the Rishikesh experience around it.

Choose the Kind of Retreat You Want to Create
Three starting points, all of them customisable. Tell us which one is closest to what you have in mind and we will build the programme around your group.
Group Yoga Retreat
Best for yoga teachers and studios who want yoga to remain the central theme. The visiting retreat leader may conduct all or most of the yoga sessions.
- Daily yoga, pranayama and meditation
- Accommodation and three vegetarian meals
- Use of the yoga hall
- Selected workshops and free time
- Local excursions
Group Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat
For organizers who want something more comprehensive than an ordinary yoga retreat. Participants combine yoga and meditation with selected Ayurveda treatments.
- Everything in the yoga retreat, plus
- Ayurveda consultation and therapies
- Workshops and excursions
- Time beside the Ganga
- Free personal time
Example: a 14 night programme comfortably fits around eight Ayurveda treatment sessions per participant. The exact number is customised.
Group Ayurveda Wellness Retreat
Yoga does not have to dominate. Some groups prefer a slower programme built around Ayurveda, gentle movement and rest.
- Gentle yoga and meditation
- Ayurvedic consultation and treatments
- Vegetarian food and nature
- Ample free time
Particularly suitable for wellness groups, meditation groups, older participants, women’s groups and stress management retreats.
We also host meditation retreats, women’s wellness retreats, yoga studio retreats, spiritual retreats, teacher-led retreats and small group wellness holidays.
Retreat Durations and Group Pricing
We do not require every group to follow the same duration, and we do not publish one fixed group price.
How Long Should Your Retreat Be?
- 7 Day Retreat - suitable for groups wanting a short introduction to Rishikesh, yoga and Ayurveda.
- 10 Day Retreat - additional time for treatments, workshops and excursions without a full two week commitment.
- 14 Night Retreat - one of the most practical options for international groups. Two weeks gives participants time to settle into the rhythm of the retreat rather than leaving just as they begin to relax, and it fits yoga, meditation, around eight Ayurveda treatments and selected excursions without crowding the daily schedule.
- 21 Day Retreat - ideal for a deeper yoga, Ayurveda or personal development experience, with more spacious scheduling and greater integration between practice, treatments, nature and rest.
- Longer Retreats - longer private programmes can also be discussed.
Special Group Packages for 10+ Participants
A seven day yoga retreat with twin sharing rooms and use of the yoga hall is very different from a 21 day programme including private rooms, teachers, Ayurveda treatments, transportation and excursions. For that reason we prepare a customised quotation, based on:
- Number of participants and retreat duration
- Private or twin sharing rooms
- Number of Ayurveda therapies
- Yoga teachers required
- Excursions and transportation
- Season and any special activities
Special arrangements and benefits may also be available for qualifying group leaders and assistant teachers. Ask for group leader terms when you request your quotation.
What Can Your Group Package Include?
It depends on the programme you select. Only the services agreed for your particular group will appear in your final quotation.
- Residential accommodation
- Twin sharing or private rooms
- Attached bathrooms
- Hot and cold water
- Wi-Fi
- Three vegetarian meals daily
- RO purified drinking water
- Yoga hall
- Yoga classes
- Pranayama
- Meditation
- Yoga Nidra
- Mantra
- Yoga philosophy
- Ayurveda consultation
- Ayurveda therapies
- Group workshops
- Kunjapuri excursion
- Vashishtha Cave excursion
- Local sightseeing and transport help
- Local retreat support
Why Retreat Leaders Choose a Residential Ashram
A hotel can provide bedrooms. A retreat requires an environment. When your participants live, eat and practise yoga within the same residential setting, the group gradually develops its own rhythm. People meet at breakfast, practise together, discuss what they are learning, receive treatments, rest, walk to the river and return for the evening session. That continuity makes a retreat feel very different from a holiday where participants meet for yoga twice a day and spend the rest of their time scattered around a hotel.
Organizing a retreat in another country can otherwise become complicated very quickly. A retreat leader may need to coordinate a hotel, a yoga studio, catering, yoga teachers, an Ayurveda centre, therapists, excursions, transportation and local support. At Sri Yoga Ashram many of these elements are coordinated as part of one residential retreat, which is particularly useful for international teachers who want to bring their students to India without becoming full time travel organizers.
- Walking distance from the Ganga. Your students experience one of the defining features of Rishikesh without needing a vehicle every time they want to visit the river.
- Himalayan and forest environment. The hills, greenery and natural landscape create the atmosphere people travel to Rishikesh to experience.
- Laxman Jhula location. Stay close to the yoga and spiritual culture of Rishikesh rather than inside an isolated resort.
- Yoga and Ayurveda in one place. Combine traditional practice with Ayurveda without coordinating several separate establishments.
- Comfortable but unpretentious accommodation. Clean rooms, private bathrooms, hot water, Wi-Fi and basic furnishings, without turning the retreat into a luxury hotel experience.
- Suitable for small groups. Around 10 to 12 people creates a personal, intimate retreat environment.
- Vegetarian residential meals. Three meals a day keep participants inside the rhythm of the retreat.
- Flexible teaching arrangements. Bring your own teacher, use our teachers, or combine both.
- Custom Ayurveda programmes. Add selected treatments, or build an Ayurveda focused retreat around your group’s purpose.
- Rishikesh experiences. The Ganga, Kunjapuri, Vashishtha Cave and the Himalayan surroundings add dimensions an ordinary resort destination cannot reproduce.
Sri Yoga Ashram runs its accredited 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in four specialised streams in Rishikesh: Ashtanga, Kundalini, Yin and Meditation.
A Sample Day at Sri Yoga Ashram
Every organizer designs a different schedule. A Yoga and Ayurveda retreat might follow a rhythm like this one. Some retreat leaders prefer fewer classes and more free time, others bring students specifically for intensive practice, and we can build either.
Note : The purpose of a retreat is not to fill every hour with activities. Sometimes the greatest value comes from giving participants the space to slow down.
A Peaceful Location in Laxman Jhula, Rishikesh
Close to the Ganga. Surrounded by hills and greenery.
Sri Yoga Ashram is situated near the Post Office in the Laxman Jhula area of Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The River Ganga is within walking distance, while forests, hills and the Himalayan landscape surround this part of Rishikesh. Guests therefore do not have to choose between nature and convenience: they can stay in a peaceful environment and still walk out to the ghats, river, cafes, temples and everyday life of Rishikesh.
For a retreat group this matters. Participants do not feel isolated inside a resort for two weeks, but neither do they have to stay in a noisy commercial neighbourhood. They have space for practice and reflection, while the real Rishikesh remains just outside the door.
Rishikesh is known internationally as one of the world’s great centres of yoga and meditation, sitting where the Himalayan foothills meet the Ganga. A retreat here is not limited to what happens inside the yoga hall. Your participants wake up surrounded by mountains, walk to the river, experience the forests and hills, and meditate in places associated with generations of yogis. For an international group, the destination itself becomes part of the retreat.

The Ganga Is Part of the Retreat
The river is not simply a sightseeing attraction. Between yoga sessions participants can walk towards the Ganga, sit quietly beside the water, meditate, visit the ghats, or spend an hour away from phones and schedules. Group walks and selected meditation sessions near the river can become part of your programme. For a student who has travelled thousands of kilometres to practise yoga in India, these simple moments often matter as much as the formal classes.

Nature Around You
Green Himalayan hills, forest and a natural mountain environment stay close to everyday life here, which helps a group that is intentionally stepping away from its normal routine. Morning yoga feels different when the day begins among Himalayan hills. Pranayama feels different in fresh air. Meditation becomes easier when the surroundings themselves encourage stillness, and in free time guests can simply walk.
Group Retreat FAQs
The questions retreat leaders ask us most often before bringing a group to Rishikesh.
Create Your Own Yoga Retreat in Rishikesh
You may already have the students, and you may already have the teaching programme. What you need is the right place to bring everything together: somewhere your students wake up in the Himalayan foothills, where the Ganga is close enough to become part of everyday life, where yoga, meditation and Ayurveda belong naturally together, where accommodation is comfortable without distracting from the reason everyone has come, and where you can teach your own students while having local support when you need it.
That is the kind of group retreat we want to help you create at Sri Yoga Ashram.
